FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Newborn studio sessions are best done between 7 - 14 days after birth. It is best for parents to book the session within the second trimester to minimise disappointment. To ensure that we can accomodate for changes in newborn arrival dates, we only schedule in a set amount of newborn sessions a week. Parents are requested to contact us within 3 days of the birth so we may confirm your new appointment time. Sessions are approximately between 2-3 hours and parents/siblings/grandparents are included at no extra charge. Props and sets up will be customised in accordance with your personal preference discussed in your private consult before the newborn studio session. The only requirement is for parents to bring any special sentiments you wish to be included in the photographs and babies pacifier to help with settling.
Lifestyle Newborn sessions are in-home and can be done up to several weeks after birth. Sessions take between 1 - 2 hours depending on how baby feels on the day. These sessions do not include any set up of props and photos are taken in the comfort of your own home, using natural light and natural approach to photography.
Maternity sessions are best done between 30 and 36 weeks before your baby arrives. You will have.a beautiful bump by this time. Maternity sessions are approximately 1 hour and can either be completed in-studio or on location. Location suggestions can be provided if requested.. Please note; additional costs may be incurred for locations outside 30km radius from Bolwarra near Maitland, NSW.
COMMON QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED BY PARENTS
When is the best time to have a Maternity Session?
The best time for a maternity session is between week 30 and 36 of your pregnancy. You will have a beautiful baby bump by this time.
Do you provide the props for the Newborn Session?
I provide everything for your session that has been sourced locally and internationally. All props, outfits, bonnets, set-ups, dresses are all provided by Tiny Hands Photography and is customised to your session.
Do you retouch our portraits?
Yes. All images are professionally hand edited. For this reason, most galleries are presented with 7 to 14 days from the session to allow for editing and retouching on all images.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes, we offer gift certificates with a minimum value of $100. The certificate can be used towards any sessions, promotions, minis or credit towards prints and products.
What payment methods are available?
We accept cash, EFT, all major credit cards (3% surcharge is applied for credit card payments, interest free, payment plans and Afterpay.
When is the best time to schedule a Newborn Session?
Newborn Photography sessions are best booked in the middle of your second trimester. Newborn Sessions should be booked at least 6-8 weeks in advance as only a limited numbers of newborns are scheduled each month to insure I am free to accomidate them all within the needed time frame once they arrive. The best time to book is always before your baby is here.
How old should my newborn be for the session?
Newborn Sessions are best when your infant is within the first 7-21 days of birth. It is so easy in the excitement of bringing home a brand new baby to forget or let the time pass you by but timing is really critical in scheduling your newborn session. I ask that all my clients let me know within 3 days of your babies birth to ensure getting you on the schedule within those first precious days of your new babies life.
Does the session fee include family and siblings?
Of course! In every session, immediate family ( parents, siblings) in a few pictures are always included. Extended family ( IE grandparents to the baby, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) at this time not included in sessions.
Does my session fee include digitals?
The session fee covers the photographers time and talent and does not include any digital images or prints/products. These are purchased separately. For more information, please view pricing.
How long till the ordering appointment is arranged?
Ordering appointments are scheduled 2 weeks after the session. This is to allow the photographer the time to professionally edit each image individually to present at the reveal. The ordering appointment is held at the Studio based in Bolwarra.
Can my Pet be in the session?
Although I love and appreciate your furry family members of the family, due to potential allergy and sanitary precautions for all my clients, pets are not allowed to participate in studio sessions but can participate on location shoots.
Is hair and makeup included in the session fee?
No, hair and makeup is not included in your session fee. Wardrobe, editing of the images and the session in itself is what is included in the session fee. I do have favorite vendors I am happy to share in my styling guide upon a deposit paid with booking.
